I was on 1A65 last night, Man Picc to Euston.

On arrival at Euston the TM announced we were 35 mins late however OTT states 39 mins.

Not relevant for delay repay however what if it straddled the magic 30 mins?

How do the TOC's calculate it?

The train arrived at 2136. The publicly advertised arrival time was 2059. So it was actually 37 minutes late. The discrepancy with the publicly advertised time is what matters for delay compensation.

TM will have simplified the delay for understanding, or he/she hasn't had time to recalculate it accurately. Delay repay is more accurate so you've got no worries, remember every TM/Guard is only human so we may make the odd error.

RTT calculates delay on the WTT (Working Timetable) so should not be relied upon.
