I thought Platinum trains was about getting passengers off BA and Easyjet, etc., rather than trying to abstract revenue from NXEC.

That's what they claimed anyway. We haven't heard anything more from them though.

I do apologise for inferring you were a newbie, we get it at cambridge jn & welling from FCC but you have to grin & bear it!

Everybody gets it from FCC at cambridge jcn and welwyn,woolmer green is another one !!:lol:

what gets me about Glasgow trains is... is there demand for Nottingham-Glasgow?

To be honest, I believe that Turbostars/Adelantes should be allocated to where capacity is desperately needed, not to frivolous and unproven new routes. Of course, they could go down the loco+mk2 route, I'm sure they could find something suitable. It would just be the joining/splitting part that could make this difficult I imagine.

Much as i like to see more services, the franchised operators should all have first dibs on all the rolling they need before any surplus is made available to open access operators.
