I am trying to remove the power pick ups from a MK3 Hornby carriage as they cause too much friction.

They are spring loaded but I can't seem to get in to the bogie to remove the spring.

Standard Hornby Mk3 carriages don't have pick-ups and they have clip-fit bogies that are one-piece mouldings, so I'm not sure what you have there.

Well new bogies arrived today and the wheels have been swapped over so back to two full HST rakes. Well I say full, five carriages (1st,Buffet,2nd,2nd,2nd) plus the trailers is all the clubs layout can take.

Picture of pick up bogies attached as requested.

Those are original Hornby coach lighting kit sliders from about 1981 and are a collectors item in their own right by now
