I wondered if anyone has any news or updates about the One:one Collection at Margate?
I tend to see news about whenever locomotives or rolling stock get delivered there but little or nothing about building progress or when it is likely to open as a visitor attraction.

Hi

I will try and answer as best as i can. I was there on Friday 02/09

At the moment the front of the building is off and the building is having major work done to it. Access ramps where built in Mid 2020. This was somewhat delayed due to Covid. Some more infomation can be found here but it has not been updated for about a year. They will annouce any open days etc here - https://www.facebook.com/theonetoonecollection

On the exhibits side. For the 4SUB an announcement was made December 2020 that the 4SUB can stay at Margate on the proviso the unit undergoes a full cosmetic restoration to display standard. Link - https://railforums.co.uk/threads/4-sub-association-group.211943/

Many thanks for the information. It sounds like a rather slow and gradual build as a visitor centre but I really look forward to seeing it when it’s open.

Well, from some suggestions going around this week it might be joined by the Craftsman too.

(Seems to be some decisions to be made following it’s fire at Nuneaton a few weeks back)
