'one' Day Explorer Ticket

What better way to celebrate our Community Rail Lines on the ‘one’ network, than by exploring them with a new ‘one’ Day Explorer ticket, initially available from 19th May to 3rd June and then again from 4th July to 9th September.

The ‘one’ Day Explorer is valid for travel across the ‘one’ railway network at just £18 per adult and £2 for accompanied children (terms and conditions apply).

Not valid for travel between London Liverpool Street – Harold Wood/Chingford/Enfield Town/Waltham Cross/Theobalds Grove

Valid for travel all day at weekends and Bank Holidays and after 0845 Mondays - Fridays

At least someone's publicising that ticket. The Severn Beach Line is supposed to have a day ticket, valid Mon-Fri only after 9am (not Sat) for £1 for a temporary period. Yet it's not on FGW's website and the conductors on the train are still selling £1.40 and above fares - the only people who seem to offer it are ticket office staff at Temple Meads!

So this is valid everywhere with 'one' bar from Liverpool Street? Could be a bloody good excuse to cover lines in Anglia...

I'll trust it's not valid at all on other operators' services where multiple operators run (Norwich - Ely on either CT or 'one' for example)?

Its valid on any One Railway service outside the Travelcard Zone (between London Liverpool Street and Harold Wood/Chingford/Enfield Town/Waltham Cross/Theobalds Grove)

I doubt it will be valid on Central either

Southern and FCC dont exclude the travelcard area. I think there would be too much mucking around on commuter trains in London for me. I m lucky that I have a railcard. Id just get a ticket to Ipswich or Cambridge and buy a discounted Anglia Plus ticket from there. Most of the interesting branches would be covered plus its all operators.

Erm, they're quite different. Southern's rover doesn't exclude any part of the network and has to be purchased in advance...

Sounds a good way of getting in my missing sections of the 'one' network, since I've got all of what's covered by Anglia Plus (except Ipswich to Cambridge), but I'm missing Braintree, Sudbury and Southminster, aswell as a lot of the West Anglia bit. Probably do Norwich-Shenfield, Shenfield-Southminster-Shenfield, Shenfield-Braintree, Braintree-Witham, Witham-Marks Tey, Marks Tey-Sudbury-Marks Tey, Marks Tey-Ipswich, Ipswich-Cambridge, Cambridge-Bishops Stortford, Bishops Stortford-Stansted Airport, Stanstead Airport to Cheshunt, Hertford East Branch, then back to Norwich.

Loader, you technically can use travelcards on express trains if you have a Zone 6 boundary ticket (which, most of the time is the final station in the zones - your destination).

Even that's wrong, I've used a travelcard in conjunction with a Boundary Zone 6 extension ticket on a GNER train to Stevenage and a fast FGW train to Didcot...

IIRC a Zone 6 extension is a another ticket... So I was right as you CANT use a Travelcard itself.

Either way, an extension requires a travelcard, and both are needed if you're on a train which is fast from London. You can't have one or the other.
