Hello there, i am thinking of applying to a trainee driver position. I understand the competition for these roles are vast and therefore in an ideal world would apply to as many as possible. However, correct me if I am wrong, can I only apply to one position? And of I fail this have to wait six months from failing and then only have one more chance to apply?
I read this before but now cannot find the article to confirm this.
Any help is appreciated!

It's not so much the applications that are restricted, but rather the assessment that potential trainees need to complete. Apply to every single TOC if you like. When you get sent for driver assessment there are a number of tests you need to pass before being considered.

It is possible that you could pass them all and not get the job, in which case you could apply to another TOC and tell them you have already passed the assessments.

If you fail driver assessment you must wait 6 months before trying again, and there is a limit on how many failed attempts you get.

It depends on the TOC. Some TOCs you can apply as many times as you like. Others only allow 1 application at any 1 time and you have to wait 6 months if you fail with that TOC!

First Group have introduced this recently. If you fail the pre-selection stage, you can't apply to become a driver again for 3 months. At least that's what it said on the email I got back from FTPE.

Luckily my application for FGW went through before I got my rejection for FTPE!!
