On train entertainment?

It seems a somewhat drunken Kim Wilde was on an FCC GN service home the other night after a christmas party; decided to entertain the carriage. enjoy!

I would have said in the good old days the entertainment would have been watching the staff try and serve drinks and hot meals to the entire dining carriage without dropping anything but seeing as all you get now is a can of pepsi and a bag of crisps its not exactly theatre....

Kim had better watch out. She's broken Bylaws 4 and 7 and FCC now have video evidence from YouTube. Seeing as she both has to work with kids and in America, then she can't risk a criminal record. The problem for her is that she'd promised not to do this kind of thing again after previous offences in the 1980s and now she's gone back to her old ways. Shocking behaviour. Could someone advise how much she should offer to FCC to settle out of court?

I tweeted the link to FCC (and they replied) but I don't think they will do anything beyond sharing it around the office and having a laugh.

I bet Joe Public prefer Kim to a 'greedy train operator' so from a PR point of view, doing her isn't a very wise idea. Especially if nobody complained. Why give the Daily Mail such an easy story?

Okay so you might argue that this sends out the wrong signals to other buskers that I've experienced on trains, but I doubt Kim was asking for money afterwards! That's the bit people don't like.

I wonder what the take-up would be if a TOC offered a "noisy" carriage in addition to a quiet carriage, with on-board entertainment or music? It could even be marketed as a reason to travel with them. I wouldn't mind a CD of some Christmas tunes playing.

Every carriage but the quiet coach is a noisy coach in my experience

The general consensus is that this was a bit of fun and a laugh not to be taken seriously but I'd be pretty ****ed off by the background noise whilst trying to quietly go somewhere.

She was trying to give those miserable looking commuters some Christmas joy, before they took their stoney faces to their graves!!

(Any commercial use of filming on private propery would need permision of the owners! eg FCC Or you could be liable to be sued for a small fortune! It has happened on Blackpool's Piers!)

It would be a nice idea for the TOC's to play music on those trains!

It was just a bit of a laugh, she wasn't a busker or asking for money, nor was she causing any trouble, so I doubt FCC are bothered.

I rarely see anything like this in the UK anyway, I went to New York earlier this year for six days and on the Subway, I came across at least a dozen beggars, buskers and preachers on board! I remember a dance troop performed between stops!

It would be a nice idea for the TOC's to play music on those trains!

Well, Northern Rail have their live music trains on certain lines where they have community partnerships!

On a train back from Pembroke a month or two ago there were a couple of people who produced fiddles and started playing folk tunes. It turned out there had been some sort of festival and before long half the carriage had moved down to join in with their instruments!
