On hold period for first capital connect

Hi

I passed all my assessments and interviews for fcc in September 2013 was told I would be employed with them when space was there, I didn't make January or May, what's the normal on hold wait time and does it mean il defiantly have a job with them at some point.

Any help would be great cheers

Someone I work with at FCC has just been given May at Bedford after waiting about a year internally, it is my understanding that May is now full so they are getting through the talent pool, hang in there!

Yeah I start at blackfriars in may but was told that there are still spaces on the course

Looks that way, although they did advertise there being vacancies but it seems these have been filled or are being filled from the 'talent pool'. Its almost impossible to know with any certainty how they recruit!

Oh ok makes sense,suppose they can just top up the talent pool and then pick people out when need be.

Cheers for the replys, I got an email saying there was 1 place in May which was taken so I'd still be on hold, it may be that I'm for Brighton but who knows il just keep waiting

Not sure I get this talent pool thing. Surely if you apply for a job / vacancy, you should expect a job at the end of the process, not stuck in a talent pool.

I know what u mean mate, I got a call saying well done wtc for passing everything and then 2 weeks later get told I'm not in but might be in next one then again a fat no for that one so just gonna have to wait and hope

Yeah doesn't sound fair. My father in law drives for a TOC and he's says they wouldn't put you through all the assessment etc if there wasn't a job at the end of it, but clearly they do. Getting through and going in the talent pool is better than losing a strike, can always apply to another TOC in the mean time.

I got an email today that I had been successful in my interview and had been put in the talent pool. Is there an average waiting time before i get a trainee position or am i clutching at straws? Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks!
