Hi can anyone give me any clues. My application status says on hold after successful train conductor assessment which I had on January 3rd in Leeds. Does anyone know what happens next?

I applied for a Guards position with Merseyrail and went through the selection process in October. I passed all the assessments/interviews etc and have now been put in a holding pool, just wondering has anyone experienced this before with Merseyrail and what are the chances they will eventually take me on.

I know its common with other firms like Northern but not heard of it happening with Merseyrail, any help would be great.

I have the same issue. I was applying for Wigan, what about you? I was also there on the 3rd.

Have you been checking your emails? Wigan has been withdrawn at this time, although it does still say on hold after successfull conductor assessment in the engageats.

Sorry Ritchie dont know anything about merseyrail!
I applied for Blackpool (northern) Keep checking e-mails but nothing since they'd said I'd met the criteria and they'd be in touch soon...... but how soon?! That's a shame hidden about the Wigan post, hopefully another position will come up!

Hi Char29. I took my assessment in November and had the same email after i passed. I was on hold for 2 weeks before being put into a talent pool. Hope this helps.

No I was the girl with the pink top and fur coat -had no idea everyone was going to be suited and booted!!

Passed my interview May 2013

Passed Conductor Assesment June 2013 and was told that I was 'on hold following successful Conductor Assesment'.

Received email in September nforming me that the Traincrew Plan had changed so no vacancies were available for the rest of 2013, so I was to be placed in the Talent Pool.

December 2013: Invited for second interview in Leeds on 9th January 2014

January 2014: Received a call to say I had passed my interview and that I will be receiving an information pack throught the post, then when a position becomes available I will be asked to attend a medical and then start on a course.

The Conductor assesment results are valid for Five Years and your interview score for Six Months.

So basically, you are on hold for any positions that come up at your chosen depot in the next six months and given the fact that there is going to be alot of recruitment this coming year, I would assume that you could well be in with a good chance of getting somwhere.

It has been hell for me waiting this long and you may not be waiting as long, but I assure you that it is well worth the wait.

I applied for London Midland guard bout a year ago in west mids still in the pool
Though I see many new guards about for them in west mids don't put your life on hold I say

Thanks guys I've been given my start date 3rd Feb, only gives me 2 weeks. Luckily my current employer is being quite reasonable and doesn't mind me not giving a months notice!

I got a phone call on Thursday she said she'd send me details in the post but not received anything yet and my application status still says on hold! Yes it's for Blackpool
