On-Board Ticket Examiner (Scotrail)

I was wondering if anyone new anything about this role?
I am assuming ticket examiners are different to conductors and operate on DOO trains. Therefore is it or is it not classed as a safety critical role? What age do you need to be for this?

I have interviewed for this position and it was more focused on customer service than safety. Are u an internal or external applicant?

TE is not classed as safety critical and you can do it from 18 years old.

TE is not classed as safety critical and you can do it from 18 years old.

As it is not safety critical does that not therefore mean you can do it from 16+ or as it is on-board is this not the case.

16- Non-safety critical roles, such as station support and all TOC apprentices
18- Safety critical (dispatcher, conductor and depot drivers) and on-train hospitality (due to serving alcohol)
21- Mainline drivers

ScotRail don’t employ 16 and 17 year olds as Ticket Examiners.
