OLE operative

Hi all

does anyone have any information on the role of an OLE operative for network rail?
Also any ideas of shift lengths and patterns etc the advert mentioned a bonus and shift premiums so any info on them too would be great

Shift lengths depend on the DU, most are 7 hour days, some 8. Id say all weekends are 12 hours, although i do believe there are some DU’s out there who do 10 hours at weekend. Alot of it depends on your t&c’s. What area is it

Thanks for the reply Jay_123. It is in Doncaster. Do you have any idea about the training involved?

Unsure as to what t&cs they are on there. Training will usually consist of a mix of different things from PTS(personal track safety) ,AP(authorised person, erecting earths for an isolation so you can work on the overhead line safe) to OLE 1(unsure as i didnt do this with network rail i had it before i joined but i think its an intro to the OLE. OLE 2(Teaches you techniques to work on the overhead line, how to rig up etc) . Operatives are entry level positions so no previous rail experience is required.
