Old Transport for London Busses

I've just passed an old fashioned single decker and old double decker in Maroon colours with 'London Transport' on the side, heading west on the A68 just after junction 58 of the A1M at Darlington.

Does anyone know where they would be going to?

At a guess the "London comes to Glasgow" event taking place tomorrow and Sunday, and marking 40 years since ex-London Routemasters first took to the streets of Glasgow.
I believe there's a running day and an open day at Bridgeton bus garage museum.
