Good Morning,

You could look at Ebay or Amazon websites. However if you are ever near London Waterloo Station, there are a couple of book shops that may be worth a browse, I don't know the names, but one is on the corner of Waterloo Road and Bayliss Road/Lower March on the and the other is in Lower Marsh Itself.
You could also have a look at the various shops/stalls at any of the various preserved steam railways, EG, Blue Bell, NYMR etc., as they often have interesting books for sale, some second hand. In fact I have been looking, with no sucess for a UK rail atlas that shows old closed lines as well as the existing network.

I got my 1922 Bradshaws timetable book and map from Barter Books in Alnwick. The map attached to the rear cover is not the clearest in the world but interesting non the less.

For maps and books in one, keep an eye out for the series "A regional history of the railways of Great Britain", originally published in the late 70s, with a later edition published in the 80s. There are a total of fourteen volumes, of which I own two, for North and South Wales. Each has a fold-out map at the back, showing the local network at its greatest extent.

You may also be able to order a photographic reprint of a Bradshaw. My father has obtained such reprints (to order) of a Bradshaw's Gazette (not the Almanac: this deals with stocks and shares in railway companies) and Edward Parry's guide to the Chester and Shrewsbury Railway. They were scanned copies of originals from some academic libraries in the USA. I'll ask after further details of where they came from, and get back to you.

On a more local level, historical OS maps may be of help in some instances. A few websites online lets you browse some sheets as a Google maps overlay.

Oh, yes I forgot about Barter books in Alnwick, that is a great place, (Both Book shop and the Town, the North Eastern part of England has many excellent places like this.) Bythe way what is the Avatar symbol you have? I guess a transportation network of some kind?
