Old Railway Magazines

Hi there,
I have a large collection of railway magazines from a few different publishers. I was wondering if there was a place that may buy them from me or even in the worse case is there somewhere I can give them so they can make some money from them e.g. heritage railway's or so on or would it be best if I just put them on eBay individually? Note that most are in a very good condition for there age.

To be honest, unless they are a particularly rare or sought after issue, you see them selling bundles for a few pounds at most MR shows. I wouldn't have thought the hassle of selling them would be worth it.

Most smaller heritage groups will happily take them to sell.

I see them at preserved railways, often for a very cheap price. I'm sure many preserved railways would want them, so each time you're visiting one, you could take a few to donate.

I was talking to John Stephens of the CFPS about magazines only a couple of weeks ago - there are certain titles which will sell quite well, and others that won't (so aren't really worth bothering with).

Most of the magazines are Railways Illustrated and Rail from before it became too political, and recently RI and Todays Railways UK. I do have some specials such as Rails 500th magazine and so on. I think I shall just give them to the K&WVR next time I'm near. The only reason I want rid of them is that I'm starting to run out of room for them.

A couple of years ago I was given 2 Full carloads of mags.
My car at the time was an Isuzu Trooper and it was stuffed full of mags from at least 5 titles, in reasonable condition. Model Engineer, Railway Mag, Railway Modeller for 3 of them.
Most in consecutive years and at least 2 titles dated back to 1928.
Asked around not a single response.
Ended up giving them to VCT at Ingrow otherwise we would have sent them to recycling which we are registered for anyway.
