20200125_194625.jpg I inherited a huge box of old postcards from my mother. There are a few railway related ones so far, here is a selection. They are in good condition on the whole, reflections from poor lighting has blurred a couple. Is there anything here of historical importance? If so I am willing to scan and make better copies, including reverse side

The bottom half are BR official or the national museum collection as in the early 60s, and I would guess are not uncommon.
The two top right are interesting - the Monte Generoso rack line near Lugano was IIRC the last Swiss mountain lines to be electified; the loco looks to be a diesel or possibly steam. To the right is a funicular, presumably also Swiss - I don't recognise it but Lugano again, or Locarno?
The top left two look to be part of a series, maybe early 50s, and might interest specialists - of which I am not one!

I don't think I've ever seen a photo of the Manx locos with that original cab design before - is that card dated?

The last card appears to be Romney Hythe & Dymchurch

Post mark is not clear, but I think 6th Sep 57, stamp and who is was addressed to support that date. Card is in poor condition, top left corner has been torn off and sellotaped back on, and part of picture has separated leaving a blank patch.

If you want a better picture I can scan or photograph it properly, let me know, but condition is going to limit quality.

"Gladstone" (bottom left) and the Stirling Single (2nd up, centre) appear to be photographed in the old York museum, so pre-1975.

According to Wiki, in 1954 the Monte Generoso line brought into service two diesel rack locos, built on the frames of older steam locos (Bryan Morgan mentions this in The End Of The Line -- it would seem that this conversion had taken place fairly shortly before his visit. It looks to me, that the postcard picture shows one of these machines in "diesel guise"). In 1957, rack diesel railcars were introduced on the line; it was electrified in 1982.
