Old Gatwick express stock

I often notice old Gatwick express stock being used for southern services and I'm fine with that, quite comfortable. However, using it on peak London bridge/south coast routes (eg. to Bognor or Eastbourne) must be confusing to tourists and those not familiar with the Brighton line as these are the only services that DONT stop at Gatwick. Wouldn't it make more sense to use then on services to/from Victoria, as these DO all stop at Gatwick.

Any enlightenment on this would be welcome.

As bus companies seem to have to learn over and over again, efficiency of stock-diagramming and route-dedicated vehicles are the happy bedfellows.

But it’s not ‘old stock’ - it’s exactly the same stock as is currently used on Gatwick Express, but they currently treat it as a common fleet. It will change in December anyway, as there’ll be more Gatwick Express services.
