Oil sidings

Can anyone think of any stations/locations past or present where there are/was lineside oil depots and associated sidings? One place I am aware of is in Scotland at Lairg where there is a small oil terminal adjacent to the station with a couple of sidings. I remember a Class 37 backing up a rake of TTA tanks into the sidings on many occassions in yester year. Anyone know of any others?

There was one at Staines West accessible off the branch, and finally after closure of the through route, from a spur off the Windsor line. Also at Colnbrook, on the Staines West branch used for aviation fuel I think.

Micheldever Oil Terminal is now disused but I think dates back to WW2 as an underground facility.

There was one east of Slough on the GWML but I can't remember exactly where. Hayes & Harlington maybe?

Are the sidings near Gobowen (I believe they are called Haughton Sidings/Yard) still in use? I know they still exist, but I'm not sure if they've seen a train enter or leave them for many years now.

Whittington has a ground frame but it hasn't been used in years, the oil depot is still there owned by Shell Mex

Nothing is planned in there so I doubt it.

Watton at Stone and Hitchin on the ECML used to have oil sidings although the Watton at Stone ones are long gone with half the site under housing, I can only presume the same has happened with the Hitchin ones.

Stanlow (Ellesmere Port) had several terminals, I think owned by several different refiners. National Pipeline network put paid to most of the traffic there years back.

LLandudno Junction has a mothballed fuel terminal I believe.

Dalston fuel terminal is still open, gets a daily service IIRC.

There used to be rail connections into depots at Goostrey (Crewe - Wilmslow line) and between Bramhall and Poynton (Cheadle Hulme - Macclesfield line)

Rail long gone now, but the latter depot is still open for road traffic.

Both sites had a Government/MoD feel to them when operational.
