Steam is nice, Diesels myself, but steam is nice to see. So when 'THE CHESHIREMAN' Cleethorpes-Chester on the 19 Oct 2013 was going to be a B1 steam engine out of Cleethorpes, yes I wanted to see it. For photos I try Cleethorpes and jump on Doncaster train and pass it at some point and then take some photos of it at Doncaster in the light of morning. But oh no, it's that 70013 again. Which keeps coming to Cleethorpes (and even stand a week.)
So now, home from work as usual 3:30am Saturday morning shower and bed. And don't bother see the thing. Anybody else sick of seeing the same engine where they live?

Used to be like that down here, VSOE...Tangmere, 2nd week VSOE..Tangmere, 3rd week VSOE..Tangmere, Sundays Bristol Weymouth steam specials...oh look Tangmere, Xmas Poole or Three Bridges to Bath...hmm Tangmere...zzzz

Ended up calling it frothmere for a bit once!

Wouldn't mind if it was some Hall or something, but it doesn't really thrash, so I don't usually bother. I don't mind spam cans otherwise though (bar Tangmere ) or, as someone at work calls it 'Tanglefoot'

I wouldn't complain about a Brit turning up anywhere! Does it really go to Cleethorpes that often?

Am I the only one who read the title and thought "oh no, has another Freightliner 70 caught fire again?"

Of course not ;)

This is the present Class 70 joke thread, since it appears we're getting more!

Every steam hauled charter that has started at/visited Cleethorpes since 2008 has been Oliver Cromwell. The past one not to be 70013, was 60009 in November 2007.
Mayflower would have been a nice change for Cleethorpes in my opinion.

44871 5MT back on 2nd April 2011, or 2006 or 2007 a B1 61264 or disguised as 61001 Eland came to Cleethorpes. But thats it.
