Off peak ticket from Manchester to Colchester

Hi!

I have an off peak ticket from Manchester to Colchester leaving Manchester with a seat reservation at from Manchester at 1435. And then leaving London Liverpool Street at 1730.

I'm aware that trains leaving London Liverpool are 'peak' services.

My question is - is my ticket valid on the 1730 service from London Liverpool st... Is it valid on all peak services from Liverpool st to Colchester?

A specific service is not peak or off-peak, it depends on what ticket you hold.

If that's the itinerary you have been given then it is valid. You may wish to keep a copy of the itinerary.

There is no such thing as a blanket 'peak' or 'off-peak' train - Off-Peak restrictions vary significantly depending on the ticket you hold.

Each Off-Peak ticket has an associated restriction code - for your Manchester to Colchester ticket it will be 2C or 9I. The wording of the restriction code (e.g. nre.co.uk/2C) determines the trains you can take.

The outward journey of a ticket with code 2C (or return part of 9I) only has restrictions on arrivals into London, not on departures from London. Therefore you are perfectly entitled to take any train you like from Liverpool Street to Colchester.
