Off Peak Return - London to Oxford

The Off Peak return from London to Oxford is £36-20 whether traveling from Paddington or from Marylebone.

My question is "Is it therefore OK to travel by one route outbound and by the other route inbound ?

Whether one buys the ticket on the GWR website, on the Chiltern website or at the station on the day, will the ticket say from 'London Terminals'.

If it does state a specific station, will the other operator accept the ticket as valid for travel ? I hope so.

Yes - in this case, the ticket is routed "Any Permitted" and thus permits the use of any permitted route. London to Oxford permitted routes are either via Reading or High Wycombe - so travelling to/from either Paddington or Marylebone is fine.

It will state "London Terminals". A given fare should always be printed with the same origin/destination, regardless of where you buy it from.
