Ive been looking at off peak restrictions (specifically SVR from Winchester) down to Weymouth/ Dorchester to connect with trains running on the Heart of Wessex line.
A SVR seems to have an exception to the 09:00 off peak start time allowing you to take any train that departs at or after 08:35 from weymouth which also allows connections to be made from other stations not listed on to such a train.
Thats all fine but the time restriction from Southampton is 08:50.
Can I take a train to arrive in Weymouth for 08:35 leaving from Winchester on a SVR or can I not leave Southampton Central until 08:50?
The bit from Avantix Traveller is:
Also I thought of a hypothetical question regarding the use of a disabled railcard and travelling with someone who is also using the discount.
Obviously the holder and friend/ career have to travel together, but what if a they were travelling from Waterloo and the friend gets of the train at Southampton Central and wants to end their journey there, whilst the holder continues down to Brockenhurst, How would the friend leave the station at Southampton and exit through the barriers if there ticket was checked not being the holder of the railcard?
At what point does a person end their journey? When getting off the train or leaving the station premises?
