Off peak day return "specified coach only"

Earlier today I was looking at tickets from Welwyn garden city to Cambridge over the weekend. I knew that there are rail replacemnt buses planned and was fine with that. However, when I went to book my ticket ( super off peak day return ) I was greeted with a waring saying that my ticket would only be valid on my specified replacement buses ( see picutre ) and am confused because a return ticket usually allows travel on any train. Is this an issue with Trainline being confused or can I genuinely only travel on the replacement buses I specify when booking my ticket as it seems an odd restriction. Thanks

The Forum's site contains no such restriction for the same ticket. However it claims the 15:58 and 16:58 are "sold out". That implies someone or something has been setting some compulsory reservation flags.

Can you provide details of the itinerary you are looking at, in text format?

A clear, concise post without too much text, but with the details in a list or tubular format would be good.

Here is a hopefully better version

I was looking at taking the 11:58-13:31 from Welwyn Garden City to Cambridge, which has a rail replacement bus on that day. I would then make the same journey in return later that day, booking a super off peak day return for this route. When booking Trainline says I can only travel on the specified rail replacement bus that I have picked in my booking. Does this actually mean anything or is Trainline being unnecessarily confusing?

Trainline are incorrect - it's a walk-up ticket so you are not at all tied to the itinerary you select. You can take any train or replacement bus that day.

I'm not sure what's causing it to show that message but it's wrong.

Doesn't look like. It almost looks more like a bug in Trainline where it's picking up that phrase from where you book National Express or something.
