Hello, midweek next week I will be visiting a friend in Farnham so have checked and the best fare from my local station, South Kenton, seems to be a £13 with Network Card minimum fare via Clapham Junction Off Peak Day Return. It will now be more convenient to meet in Fleet and then walk to Farnham so I will be on a different line on the way back.

I see the similar Off Peak Day Return from SOK to FLE via CLJ is £13.15, which seems close enough, can I just buy this return to Fleet and use it back from Farnham, or do I need some kind of excess or extra fare? I wish I could ask on the day at the ticket office but unfortunately South Kenton seems to have turned into a 'tube' type station in the last few years where the staff don't seem to be trained in railway ticketing. Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.

You need a single Farnham to Brookwood, at £3.70, of if the minimum fare applies £5.60, if you've bought the ticket, otherwise £12.80 return South Kenton to Farnham, or if the minimum fare applies £13, and £3.05 single Brookwood to Fleet (£4.10 if it doesn't stop at Brookwood), of if the minimum fare applies £4.60 for both.
