That was a quick demise - I travelled on NL07 on 1st March. (Leicester to Kettering on the 0950 Leeds - St P).
41111 had recently been fitted with laminated windows, the rubber looked new. Wonder if they're being smashed at Newport?

I think there is another move scheduled for tomorrow, if memory serves me correctly. Also a quick note regarding the 20s. They are HNRC locos but they're on lease to ROG.

At the moment the system's showing as a "Runs as Required" but I'll keep an eye on it. As for the 20s, that's true. ROG Move operated with the HNRC 20s is what what I meant to put.

Ah ok then. I'm fairly certain it'll run as the 20s ran light to Ely last night.

Is there a particular reason why no Class 43 locomotives have been scrapped yet?

[Other than the Great Western 43s involved in fatal accidents...]

43075 and 43061 seem to be getting ever closer to the scrap yard but whether they ever make it is another question

Anyone have any ideas what the future for the Mk3s which went to Eastleigh Arlington today is? (42505 / 42284 / 40707 / 44043 / 40755 / 42361) is?

Very good question!! Something I've been wondering for a long time, particularly since withdrawals for GWR started in 2017 and some time ago the first HST MK 3s were sent for scrap it's really surprising no Power Cars have been scrapped yet.

I guess that while a proportion of the MTU powered power cars are still in everyday traffic with no end of service date (Scotrail and XC) then the Roscos will consider value in the power cars and retain them for potential hire complete or parting out.
Not so sure such a future might exist for the VP185 engined power cars though.

Tomorrows move was showing as a standard "Runs as Required" earlier so may not actually run. That said, if it does I do believe there is also one last 442 (2407) left at Ely as well, either way if it does run it's a fair bet it'll be something from the BR Mk3 family.

I see that according to this weeks LNER temporary timetable the HST's have returned to the Hull diagram!

Really? Why would those be used over Class 800s?
They wouldn’t as LNER haven’t got any HSTs.

I suspect the reason is somewhat more basic: the timing load in the system shows as HST and someone doing the timetable has made the basic mistake of assuming timing load = traction type (see numerous threads on here and elsewhere ever since the likes of RTT appeared).

20118 & 20132 are taking another rake of stock to Newport Docks today. https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K00021/2020-04-29/detailed
Stock for scrap reported to be 42346, 42517, 42089, 42080, 42236, and 41089 (all ex-GWR).

I guess this movement today departing Newport Docks at 16:04 and arriving at Ely at 21:34 is the locomotives and any barrier/translator/brake force/whatever carriages coming back:

Yep, that's just the two locos returning with the two barrier coaches.

Would it be possible to create a new thread for HST coach withdrawals, similar to the excellent list regarding Pacer withdrawals? That would be a great help for me and no doubt many others who are tracking the HST withdrawals.
