Weird instance at Euston this evening. Was coming back from Milton Keynes and noticed a named 390 passing through on P5 at MKC. Got on delayed VT from P4 and arrived at EUS to notice the same named 390 on P3 at EUS with a Direct Rail Services class 57 dropped in behind it and at least 2 gents in orange PPE standing in the four foot and doing stuff to coupling gear.
Had it broken down on arrival at EUS? Didn't look like there was anything wrong with the 390 when it passed MKC and this is the first time I've seen a loco set behind an EMU at EUS, just wondering what might have been going on!
