Evening all,

Just been browsing around Liskeard (LSK) on OTT and come across some very strange workings down the Looe branch, timings based on a DMU of the Class 15x type, with the trains operating a round trip of 3hr 36min.

There are no trains to / from Looe in the morning. Then, during the afternoon, a train arrives from Bristol Temple Meads:

followed by a reversing movement.....

..... whereafter there is one train to / from Looe via. Moorswater Lafarge in both directions which leaves at 1500 from Liskeard and arrives back in Liskeard at 1836.....

..... and this then heads back to Bristol Temple Meads, arriving at 2241:

Has some sort of special timetable been in operation today (10th February)? No planned changes (ie. engineering works) were advertised here.....

..... so I can't help wondering what these trains were. Any thoughts welcome.

Dave

Looe services dont run on Sundays in winter timetables, but the line sees a few winter specials as Chester025 has linked to.

As alluded to by a previous poster these are timings for the Pathfinder Hullaba Looe Railtour. The NR system requires a vehicle type for timing purposes and the only passenger stock available to use were the class 150 references in the system for the Looe branch.

Only one loco and a coach could fit on the platform at Looe so one of the paired 37s had to be detached at Moorswater on the way to Looe and re-attached on the way back to Liskeard.

That or they were too lazy to calculate and put anything in the system for the charter.
