Odd working to Epsom Downs

Looking at departures from Selhurst depot tomorrow, this seems an odd trip out and back to Epsom Downs. Is this to get something out of the way for a few hours?

Unusual to have a train on the branch on a Sunday.

The only ideas I have are technical testing, or maybe driver training? Perhaps it's some sort of winter prep technique/kit which needs to be tested over the length of a "real world" branch, but in a quiet environment?

It is a bit odd.
