for the 0615 from New Street to Edinburgh (16 Aug)
Two listings for the same train

' This service is partially cancelled

This service was cancelled between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham New Street due to unknown cause () '

And then at the same time - but a different listing

'This service is cancelled.

This service was cancelled due to a duplicate delay (PJ).'

The train ran on time

Seems RTT's got a bit confused by there being no less than three schedules for this service, with three different headcodes.

The 1S36 WTT has been cancelled as a planned cancellation.

This has been replaced with a 1Z89 STP, because it seems the 1S36 headcode has been taken up by a Euston - Glasgow.

For some reason this morning a VSTP 1S35 in the same path was entered. No idea why, and it's wasn't a good idea as there's a 1S35 XC booked through New Street at 0756-0803. Anyway it was cancelled as it was an unneeded duplicate, down to PJ. Now it may have been that when that was entered the 1Z89 was cancelled by the same person, then reinstated when they or someone else realised the error, which is why the 1Z89 which has run is showing the unusual 'cancellation' reason. Sometimes when info goes in it doesn't seem to like taking it back out again.

Think you’ll find it’s simply a limitation of the open data feeds and how sites such as RTT interpret this data unfortunately.

To answer the query itself however it is simply down to there being 2x 1S35 workings further north … 1Z89 STP had been amended to start Wolverhampton (with 1S35 VSTP terminating at Wolverhampton) prior to the Birmingham New Street part on 1Z89 being reinstated with the 1S35 path being fully cancelled instead.

Hope that helps :)
