While on a Victoria-bound train at about 1050 this morning I noticed a single class 319 in FCC purple/blue livery standing at the signal at Pouparts Junction (on the Stewarts Lane line) awaiting clearance onto the main line southbound through Clapham Junction. I've checked RTT and can find no obvious reference to such a working and I'm wondering if anyone has any information.

I believe some is for route learning. Using CLJ as a route when other places are shut.

Thats the ECS move.

Its driver training for Brighton TL drivers. Running til February I believe. The reason they're early is they're going round the Brixton spur instead of changing ends in Herne Hill. Saves quite a bit of time...

Some of the overnight services to / from Three Bridges and Brighton will be routed that way after the December timetable change.

Yes but not booked regular services, they will only go via Clapham Junction when the route via Crystal Palace is closed for engineering works - it's more of a diversionary route then anything.
