Obtaining a reduced fare

Does anybody know if it is possible to obtain a reduced fare ticket (disabled+companion or privilege etc.) from the self service ticket machines at TfL stations? This will obviously become more of an issue as ticket offices are gradually abolished - with very few exceptions.
