Hello,
having read this (rather old) article (http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702304373804577520930784840596), I wonder if there is any official data/estimate on how much pre-Euro money is left circulating.
In some countries, the deadline to exchange national currencies to euro has already passed, but in others it has not (or indeed never will). The article states that there are still 6.75bn worth of deutsche marks "in circulation".
While any leftover italian liras etc. are now literally worthless, what about those currencies that will never expire? Do you think people are saving them "just in case"?
