OBB tickets

I am going to Seefeld next week and want to buy a ticket to Rattenberg (also in the Tirol with a simple change at Innsbruck). When I look at the OBB website the ticket options seem to want to specify specific trains there and back. I certainly cannot specify the return journey times as we (two of us) are visiting friends for a birthday event and have no idea what time it will finish.
How do I get a ticket that meets my needs or is there some sort of day ticket or mini group ticket that will cover this journey? Thank you

ÖBB lets you select a specific train indeed, but tickets for regional trains aren't limited to one train only. If you check the ticket details, you'll see something like:

Standard-Ticket Gruppe
-Valid from 04. Jul. 09:40 to 05. Jul. 03:00.
-Free choice of the means of transport.
-Cancellation free of charge before 1st valid day.

A single for 2 is €30.20, a return €60.40. However, you're only using regional trains, so the Tagesticket Tirol 2Plus for €38.30 or the Einfach-Raus-Ticket for €36 will be cheaper.

Also, if you are staying in real accommodation you will get Gästekarten which generally include some local transport but I don't know how far, some are more generous than others.

In the villages west of Kitzbühel it stretches as far as Wörgl and Hochfilzen so about 50km E-W.

Obvously you don't get this if you are dodging the local tourist tax in AirBnB and the like.

I'll add a question here if I may. Does Tyrol have a weekly pass? Will be staying in Seefeld myself in September.

Yes-7 days-can start any day, valid in both train+ (post)bus and tram-Innsbruck-whole province/Land, and around 50€. Buy at a rail ticket counter.

I've been looking at day tickets for the Lower Austria region (area surrounding Vienna). The VOR website only shows a day ticket on weekends and there is no mention of a day ticket on weekdays. Am I missing something here?

That is my understanding too. VOR always strikes me as a bit naff compared to, say Tirol as discussed above, or even Wiener Linien. Freizeitticket is Sat/Sun/public holidays only. VOR Tageskarte is only between 2 points, unlike most Tageskarte.

On VOR again, does anyone understand the restrictions on the Senior rate? If I book on OeBB app or ticket machine it only asks about age, but VOR's web site states OeBB Vorteilscard Senior is needed.
