I have just read, on Euro rail staff, that OBB are introducing supplements for Free Pass holders from December 2016 on IC, RJ and ICE services within Austria. - Bad News.

I have just purchased an InterRail ticket for January. Does anyone, on here know if the above is true, and if similar supplements will be applied to InterRail ticket holders.

Cannot see anything yet. And then thinking that Germany is supplement free.

Hi Groningen,

Thanks for the reply. I have purchased a 15 day 1st Class Interrail starting on the 29th January, so I am quite looking forward to the trip. I will be based at Berlin, Munich and Luxemburg, and doing day trips. The ticket, senior rate, cost me £395, which I think is really good value.

The supplements are for rail staff FIP free passes which are not the same as Interrail (though I sincerely hope they don't start going down that road for the latter as well!)
