Oakham to Great yarmouth

Hi guys a challenege for you. Im hoping to travell with my girlfriend in october from Oakham to Great Yarmouth outward journey Monday 10th returning friday 14th.

The cheapest i can get splitting ticket is

*Oakham to Peterborough saver return at £17.40
and
*Peterborough to Great Yarmouth at £21.70

As this date is not set in stone NO advance tickets can be considered but i dont mind how many split tickets i have. I know some of you love these challenges. She has NO railcard

I have a PRIV i no it will cost me roughly £5.10 for me (as i travel on my TOC for part of the journey). My Girlfriend however has NO railcard the fare is for her ONLY.

I think it's unlikely to get cheaper.

Peterborough - Yarmouth for £20-ish is a good fare. I can't get the Oakham - Peterborough fare down, either by splitting or going via esoteric routes. Most SVRs in the region seem to be priced at just over £20 and the fact that map EM does not allow the journey between Peterborough and Grantham direct to enable an alternative routeing via Peterborough is a particular pain. This appears to be a very expensive flow for a 25 mile journey.

I don't think I've made myself clear. I was referring to finding an esoteric route for a cheaper ticket that might allow a journey to be routed via Peterborough and Grantham. If map EM links Peterborough with Grantham then it would allow many journeys in the region to be permitted via Oakham - Peterborough - Grantham, covering the section between Oakham and Peterborough for the OP, however it isn't the case.

(I was trying to see if any flow priced by EMT would be cheaper as flows priced by XC and EC in this area are very expensive.)

Thanks. I was confused because I thought you were considering a split at Peterborough, and permitted routes Oakham - Peterborough are on map BP only.
