NYMR Engineering work

I am hoping to visit the NYMR this weekend as i am going home for a few days but i note trains are only running between Pickering & Goathland. I assume this to be because of engineering work.

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

PS is there a Heritage Rail Replacement bus service to Grosmont?

As far as I know the line is open fully as all work has been completed.
The work that was due to take place between Goathland and Grosmont was cancelled.

However I will try and find out for definate ASAP.

There is no running between Goathland and Grismont, but neither is there any engineering work. The Mooriander dining train is running through, but no others. There are standard seating coaches on the diner, but not open between the two stations.
There isn't an heritage bus either, that us unless someone wants to run one. However, they would get few passengers as the NYMR timetable has been out fir many months, so no one will be at Grosmont.
The 'new' bkack 5 44806 is running. A good day to be had - come along. Goathland offers tea shop, the village and scenery worth the short stop over!

We will still go to the nYMR - just a shame we cant get on at Grosmont. I assume the engine sheds are still open

It may be due to the north end signalling work going on at Grosmont which may make running round difficult but that's just an educated guess.

It seems that the Diner trains are running through but not other trains.

MPD open for visitors as normal

Reason is that work is being carried out on Grosmont Signal box affecting the locking.
Therefore severely reduced capacity and special arrangements in place to enable the Diner to run and Locos to access / egress the MPD.
