thing is they may not be able to tilt but there top speed is 125mph without tilt though isnt it anyway
also according to wiki virgin want to lease them for services between Euston and new street to replace the 90+mk3 till the replacement pendo is delivered
this is as well as NXEC and Hul Trains who have already started using them

Wiki is wrong, there is no intention on using them on the EBWs.

From December due to VHF and better diagraming and increased availability, the cl90 is not needed anyway (according to a VT press release)

Word on the street is that NXEC have now come along with a blank cheque and nabbed a lot of 180s. Virgin will be reverting to a 90 and Mk3 set again in due course and wont be getting any.

Hope they have found some pennies to spend on maintenance of the Mk3 set then or it won't be going anywhere either in the near future!

The contract with EWS ends/is up for renewal in December. The refurb was being thought about when NatEx had an interest in taking on WB64 but, as they've pledged to supply work to the fire brigade for the next x number of years, it was apparently cancelled.

Presumably it will either be stand-by or it will work north of Birmingham as I thought there will be no 125mph paths on the fast lines south of Rugby from December?

Its slow line up the TV and timed at 110mph, I'll try and get its path next week.
