Are all of the Valentas gone on NXEC now, then, or are there still a few knocking about?

And what about EMT - are they all MTU?

Luckily EMT soldier on with VP185 engines which scream practically just like a Valenta at full throttle. On top of that, we are lucky enough to have one surviving Valenta in the form of 43064. Also, we will be getting another Valenta in a few weeks which s 43089.

An example of what a VP185 sounds like is here:

I love how you described 064. Not sure I've ever heard anyone describe a power car/Valenta as "extreme". But I like it, might do that for an absolutely dreadful performance out of one!

I had 43064 last week, was extreme!

Hopefully 064 will stay out as a Valenta until the new year, i'm out from the 1st to the 5th of Jan and hoping to get it in for the year along with 89 if its back and whatever Gc have out in that period, 4 days to get HST's and one in Bo'ness :D

Is that time limit to get them because of annual leave or something?

Hoping 064 lasts with 089 into the new year myself, would be especially extreme if they got paired <D

They are both NXEC then?

I'll be doing the HST from London to Inverness and back in the next week or so. Perhaps I'll be lucky enough to get one of those on my train. I guess the chances are fairly slim, though.

I'm staying in the North East on Friday night and Saturday night before and after Bo'ness so makes sense to get there and return from there via a GC bash and then do EMT after there Valentas on the 1st and 5th as the Midland Main Line is just over an hours ride from my local station. I prefer to spend several days out bashing rather than just Saturday every week. On my winter Saturdays I try to spend as much time as possible doing some work and drinking tea at the SVR as with galas in the summer I can often only get down once or twice a month.

Ah, fair enough. Not a bad idea to get lots of bashing done in one block, fair play.

I'll wish you good luck with that though now!
