Great pic there Fred; ta for the link. (I do know it's not yours ;)) The new scheme suits the 91s really well IMHO, but it will be good to see a full rake of NX carriages.

You never have to plug a Jack Prentice picture.

He does that enough on MSN until you block him :D

Bland, uninteresting...Boring.

Only three words that come to mind right now for this livery.

Looks especially daft on a rake of 'interim' liveried MK4s and DVT.

I respect your Opinion... its the same with the HSTs, I reckon Feb 2009, 100% MTU on NXEC :-?.

How are MTUs related to liveries? :p

The colours are a bit dull, but I don't think it will look too bad with a rake of mk4s.

Feb 2009? Crikey, it'll be before then...

I hated the GNER livery for trying to be posh (amongst other things), but this NXEC livery looks horrible! It doesn't look posh, it doesn't look classy, it doesn't even look cool. Whilst super-bright liveries are not always the order of the day for IC trains, nor should miserable colours like this livery uses. I suspect it's just me, but it looks depressing.

After all of the good work (can't believe I'm saying that) GNER and Wabtec did with the Mallard refurbishment to brighten things up and made it more welcoming to passengers, NXEC go and ruin it!

The NXEC fleet will look ok when NX upgrade the carriage washers so every train is done every night. I think it looks a nicer livery, not as classy as GNER, but much better than the Pendo's, the old GW livery or the Virgin Mk3 livery. I still like the FSR Sleeper livery best for the Mk3 / 4 bodyshape though.

I quite like the NX corporate look, to be honest. Apart from anything, it does quite a job as far as the DDA compliant door colouring goes, something that I always felt the GNER liverly failed to look good with (after all, the red doors were an alteration to comply).

And what is that based on? A pure guess by any chance?

Id say that was a decent guess our expectations are too high so rather than guess it to be done by the end of summer lets be realistic.

And MTU is a good thing dammit!!!!!

An educated guess would suggest the end of 2008 at the very latest. Heck, FGW are due to get a set from NXEC (with a pair of power cars obviously) which starts on FGW metals in the spring of 2009, so to suggest 2009 for the end of Valentas on NXEC services would be wildly incorrect. This set for FGW has been known about for some time now...

Yeah, the set NXEC are handing to FGW is one which covered the NX/GNER refurb programme, so the refurbs must be complete for it to be handed back on time.

This could of course lead to an amusing merry-go-round of NXEC sending an HST to FGW who have already releaed the 180's, some of which then go to NXEC.
