NXEA class 90

on a youtube video i saw 3 class 37 and a NXEA class 90 heading for crewe electric depot. i dont know when it was dated and if it was soon can you see it on the electric depot. i all ready seen a unusal train a basford hall a fgw 47811.

If you asking I beleve 37194 was involved (good loco that) and a skoda (yes thats about right) going off for some form of overhaul/refurb/something techhy

The only time I know of 3 x DRS locos and a NXEA 90 being moved together was on 9th April 2010 when 37059 dragged 20305, 47712 and 90013 from Norwich Crown Point to Crewe. Same day saw 37087 take 90005 in the opposite direction.

Checking Yahoo groups 90001 was moved from Norwich to Crewe by 37688 & 37229 and also had 90026 in tow on 04/12/09, not 3 DRS but was a 4 loco convoy.

i saw both those moves dreadnought aha! 37059 was rather quiet through harrow and wealdstone but 37087 departing from stratford! brilliant!

Thats different. NXEA 90s are often tripped to/from Crewe sandwiched behind the loco in a Felixstowe-Basford Hall liner.

DRS have been moving the 90s between Norwich & Crewe since they took over the NXEA thunderbird contract. By checking DRS-Gen + my own sighting on 09/04/10 I have identified the following loco moves

* 37688 dragging 90007 Crewe - Norwich 05/09/09
* 37688 & 37229 dragging 90001 & 90026 Crewe - Norwich 04/12/09 [note 90001 was taken to Crewe by 90016 on a FL intermodal on 08/09/09]
* 37601, 37604 & 37688 90009 Norwich Crewe 10/12/09 (Probably the video seen by Edward111) [cannot find a return working for 90009]
* 47832 dragging 90005 Norwich - Crewe 04/01/10
* 37087 dragging 90005 Crewe - Norwich 09/04/10
* 37059 dragging 20305, 47712 & 90013 Norwich - Crewe 09/04/10.

90009 appears to be the odd one out as the locos normally spend about 3 months at Crewe on exam whereas 90009 didn't appear to be there that long. It was definitely back in East Anglia by the start of January according to sightings on Locoscene so may have been back to Crewe for rectification work, it had its heavy exam in mid 2008.
