I was chatting to an NX driver in Bristol Bus Station last night who suggested that from the new year all NX coaches are going to be required to have 3 point belts. The operator in question does weekend work using a mixture of NX Spec vehicles and private hire vehicles and suggested that as the private hire fleet can no longer be used due to not having 3 point belts they'll be getting additional levantes to work their service.

Does anyone know anything more about this new rule? I can only assume it's an NX policy and not a government policy but does anyone know otherwise?

That sounds like a NX policy. Of course there will still be plenty of passengers who think somehow the law doesn't apply to them and that they don't have to wear their seat belt.

Indeed, the amount of passengers that don't wear belts on the motorway is astounding.

The only order i know is for full time contractors to use Levantes only hence Parks of Hamilton and Stagecoach getting them in the past 12 months
