Must admit, I don't have a prob with frame rates, having a duo core laptop helps. But do notice if playing on battery, you do notice the drop, as one of the cores is shut down, so have adjusted it & it's fine, albeit battery time has dropped as a result. If like me you have a duo core system, be it laptop or desktop, would recommend a program that controls the running of the cores. Me, I use Notebook Hardware control.

Absolutely brilliant. The return working on the Blackbrook branch and reversing at Riverside is a great addition. Likewise, having trips both to Brookfield and another from Brookfield southwards. I enjoyed both trips.

The voice message on arriving at Brookfield is also excellent. Not 100% correct, but we are using BVE! In reality the shunter wiould go into the driving cab and hand the radio to the driver and explain the situation, then return to ground level and call the moves. Keepintg the radio sound open is also realistic as if the radio goes dead or stays silent for any length of time the movement must be brought to a halt. This is another great 'first' for BVE4.

I had no trouble recognising, or accepting that this was based on Bescot yard. Having worked too and from Bescot for 38 years I immediately got the feel for the place when arriving at Brookfiled. Wish I had a penny for the hours spent at Bescot!!! I mused to term it as "Watching the sky roll by".

Like many of you I also got caught out with the signal and speed restriction changes but appreciated them having been made when on a second run.

The mainline has much more realism to it and you follow through signals like the real thing. The Class 66 turn to Brookfiled is made all the more realistic with it's signal checks. While you do get many clear runs with freight trains, the 'norm' is to have a few signal checks on the way.

I was pleased to see that you now run up to a ground signal at the end of King's Head yard rather than out towards the head shunt. As at Brookfiled a shunter would meet the train and call the shunt moves via a radio. However, in this case it would just be a light engine movement as there is no distance for shunting a train.

The Cl66 and Cl37 continue their struggle up the gradient (Haddon Hill-Whiteheath) on the Wellington (Ludgate Hill) branch as did the Cl50. A real nice touch of realism.

I look forward to seein g the next update, including the improvements to the Catanry wire and OHE Gantries

So, another all round vote of thanks to Simon and the team, this is really going to be a BVE4 'Classic'. .

Cheers.

Interesting. Does BVE support multi-threading? I thought it ran as one thread? Or is it just a case of there being so many background processes running that having dual core means that one core is dedicated to running BVE?

I don't think BVE is that heavy on processing, more so on RAM. My Core2Duo handles it nicely, but having 2Gb RAM helps!
