I just spotted the title of this thread, on the Rail UK index, for the latest post in this area of the forum, and thought it was someone having a wind-up...

I'm very happy that this has been released! :o :D:D

This is my favourite route on BVE4 as it is, and that's even before i've downloaded the new "FC upgrade" , onto my laptop, which I will turn on, and switch to in a minute.

Is there possibly a Pendo diagram included? If not, I don't mind at all, as I just really like the route anyway.

As you can tell, I'm very happy with this route, and have never re-installed MSTS, since I got BVE4 fully running, with the NWE route .

To top it off, its free as well! :D

Just as I've put my PC with BVE on into storage!!! Wonder if my sister will find me installing BVE and NWM and loads of trains....

I played on the 14:05 class 153 witminster return, and enjoyed that. The frame rate was a bit disapointing, or it's usually like that on my computer. all in all, very sucessful though!

It has knocked about 5 off mine so I no longer do the daytime routes which are the worst. The evening mail collects about 15fps at the best :(

I've not had any problems with framerates on my laptop TBH.

I ran the 15:20 Virgin Voyager Maybank-Ludgate Hill, which I really enjoyed last night. I was just a minute or two late from Riverside, due to the 20 TSR just before first intermediate station.

I just had to get used to new speed limits, especially at Radley Junction, where I went straight into full throttle, to try to make up time, with what I thought would be 40 PSR going up to 125- Wrong! Now 25 then 125, but it's a great improvement.

I especially like the higher 100 mph PSR immediatley after Clifton Greenbridge, instead of the 90, although the additional second signal on that stretch, would've caught me out if i was on a single yellow, bombing along.

This morning, I ran the 05:20ish 323 job from Whitminster sidings, into the Whitminster bay, changed ends, and ran it to Riverside, all on time.

I then did the 13:00 Pendo- Maybank to Riverside, topping 246 km/h on the stretch between station x and Norton. (Yes i know I should learn the names!)

All in all, a great route! (And that's even before I've got down to the new loco-hauled diagrams:D)

The layout of tracks has definatly been improved although I would consider some of the speed limits up to Riverside as slightly low. The fact that some of the signals are no longer at the end of a platform means you aren't required to pass slowly over the loop which is another benefit.

I've just driven the Class 50 job, from Maybank to Hammersmith, with just one intermediate stop, at Riverside.

I was on time throughout, and arrived into Hammersmith 00:00:01 early:razz: (Yes, 1 second is still early ;))

When I saw the schedule before pulling out of Maybank, I thought it was very tight, because of the PSR's between Maybank and Riverside, and also because of the lower maximum speed of the 50 of 100 mph, between Riverside and Maybank.

I ignored the double yellows after Frankley junction, with brakes only applied If i got a single yellow, with only a pretty short distance to stop. (That's the advantage of having what I think is good route knowledge)

I had a max speed of around 157 km/h.

I also sounded the horn alot, but I admit I do that most of the time on Voyagers and Pendos anyway.....

I think you mean Hammerwich, not Hammersmith

Yes I always used the speedometer- That's what it's there for!

I just use the F3 display, to get a more precise reading, so I know exactly how much under/above the limit I am, so I can adjust accordingly. I strongly agree that it's not in MPH, and that's one of the only negative points I have aagainst BVE4.

Will it be for station-to-station, or junctions/passed intermediate stations as well? (I only personally look at the time, when passing big junction stations e.g. Radley Junction, so I can see If i need to increase the throttle, If I think I'm going to be late, If I have the ability to do so.


On the subject of BVE4, I downloaded recording software from an internet side a few weeks ago, but couldn't work out how to use it, in order to send a video of my driving to You Tube, for you lot to examine/comment/mark.

(I'm personally interested to see everyone elses driving methods)

See what you're saying but in real life, drivers don't have an F3 display ;).

There's mine. Does make you feel a bit self-conscious of what you're doing when it's recording though. I think maybe videoing myself driving a loco would be a better measure of skill.
