NW platform extensions

Any one have any ideas what has happened with the platfform extensions at Newton Le Willows? Just appears to have stopped completely.

Also the airport line? Mauldeth road, East didsbury and gatley? They appear to have been finished for months, but still not opened.

Work due to restart this month. Apparently delay was due to if the new Parkside development was going to have rail access, the down platform could have fouled the trackwork. Network Rail have since stated that would not be the case, even if rail connection is made in the future.

Building work on Platform 1 extension looks complete, but not yet 'open' (as of Wednesday)
Platform 2 building work not complete but is still ongoing.

Airport line platforms should've opened over this weekend, unbelievably they still will not facilitate a 6 car unit, rear coach will still not open doors according to the safety bulletins we've received.

A Newton-le-Willows councilor has just posted that the extension has been completed. Now it just needs software mods for the 802s to disable SDO both there and Lea Green.

Will still need CASDO for the 185's though - which still won't be fully accommodating a 6 car.
