Talking of railway related documentaries, I have a bit of a question relating to a more recent one that I saw being filmed. 8)
A few years ago - Back around early 2006CE I think, it was before the smoking ban came in at any rate - I was changing trains at Brookwood and enjoying a cigarette on the platform when my train (A 450) arrived. Not wanting to miss it, I employed my usual technique of standing in the doorway (To block an optical sensor used to check that doors are clear before closing) whilst finishing off my cigarette as we still had a few minutes to go until the scheduled departure time.
Upon noticing this, the Guard - Followed by a cameraman and a producer - Took a few of steps towards me and asked me not to smoke in the doorway, a request with which I complied. I did have a couple of words with the cameraman who said they were filming a railway orientated fly-on-the-wall that followed SWT staff in their daily jobs (A railway version of Airport) and that it would be screened on the BBC at some later point.
Although I've kept my eyes open for it, I've never seen any evidence of the programme in question anywhere online. Does anyone know if the programme was eventually broadcast, and if so what the name of the programme was? I'd be interested to see if my brief appearance above made the final cut! 8)
