I was traveling on a GWR from Reading to Swansea today with 3 tickets
Advance from Reading to Port Talbot parkway
Anytime single from Port Talbot parkway to Skewen
7 day season from Skewen to Carmarthen (as I speeding a few days in the area and it worked out as good value)
the TM came thought checking tickets, they was a little bit perplexed with the combination. they fine but with make a comment about letting me off because the combination is not valid the train did not stop at Skewen, I explained to them I was using a season ticket so NRCot 14.3 would apply meaning it does not need to stop.
they replied with that only applies to two season tickets or like, reading 14.3 “if you are using a Season Ticket, daily Zonal Ticket, or another area based Ticket such as a concessionary pass, ranger, or rover, inconjunction with another Ticket“ clearly says “… with another Ticket“ not something like with “another such ticket“ applying that second ticket has to also be from the list.
and since boundary fare are a classic example of the use of 14.3 and TOCs sell day ticket for those so
has the TM made up the rule about 2 season being needed or am I missing reading something?
