Hello all,

Been doing a SimSig timetable using a NR 2012 Working Timetable and something I've noticed in the past on a couple of other tables, if a train is passing through the area that the section covers, so say Section CC01 is Chesterfield to Birmingham, if applicable it will say where the service is from/to.

There are a couple of Cross Country's in there that's listed a bit odd, 1O84 06.55 Tyne S.S to Southampton Central, and 1E68 17.46 Southamton Central to Crofton Depot. On Weekends these appear as a Crofton Depot to Plymouth, and Reading to Crofton Depot. Only one train each day has it's starting point as where it started from or is ending up at. Seeing as it wouldn't be a Class 1 ECS to a stabling point I've wondered why it has that?

I remember seeing on the ECML south tables too, that a couple of Kings Cross - Newark or York would be listed as, say, 1Y11 07.08 London Kings Cross to London Kings Cross. But at Newark or York it would change headcode, they weren't all listed like that it was only 2 or 3 that were like it.

Some of the South Eastern Dartford loops would either say Charing Cross to Charing Cross, as it does have the same headcode throughout, but the odd one would have it as going to Dartford or Slade Green and the same for coming from Dartford or Slade Green, on the same headcode.

Another thing is I understand Engineering Allowances, like a [1] is allowances for any Temporary Speed Restrictions. Is that for certain locations or just anywhere in the section? I've noticed that at Clay Mills Jn at Burton, services have a 1 minute engineering allowance, about two trains get a two minute allowance, and there's about 2 that get no allowance there at all, but instead they'll get a 1 minute engineering allowance at Stenson Jn or Tamworth instead, sometimes the odd pathing allowance is a one off engineering allowance, presumably by error, but if engineering allowances keep moving about to different locations in a day, how does that work? Or is Engineering allowance used as a sort of pathing allowance as well?

No real reason for the questions, not complaining, just generally curious to how it all works that's all :)
