NR team leader role with no rail experience

I’ve applied for an off track team leader role for Network rail. I was offered an off track technician role 7 years ago also with no rail experience but ended up turning it down. I have a lot of relevant experience, transferable skills and qualifications. It seems I have gone through into the next stage, has anyone heard of a team leader with no direct rail experience getting the role? Cheers

It depends who else is in for the job if I’m being honest, I’d imagine a technician or another team leader who is maybe changing sections would maybe get the nod before an external at that grade.
