Can anyone tell me why they have now changed the Ramsgate > Victoria routing on their websites to show a change at Faversham when it only joins up to the one from Dover?

It never used to do this or is it another ploy for them to get people to use HS1?

Certainly for Ashford journeys, I've noticed that unless you specify "show slower trains" on NRE, they tend to route you via HS1 and the tube. I presume they've done the same for North Kent.

Its not even giving the choice for HS1 cos i specified victoria as thats where im going to be.. Its just odd that it states change at Faversham for the exact same train that you are on anyway.

Even the train front and all the CIS screens state its for victoria..

Hardly a ploy then. NRE is doing exactly as you tell it - the fastest journey between those points includes HS1, unless you specifically say you want a slower journey. The journey planner is doing what it was built to do.

Looking at NRE, it does seem to show the Ramsgate - Faversham leg as a separate train. If they are joining, I can only assume that they've done an upgrade to the website which means it can't cope with splitting/joining trains at the moment.

Yes i understand that but you don't need to change trains which is why im asking why it does this.

Yorksrob - thats probably what has happened but I can only imagine if someone didnt know this they may actually get off and then jump onto the HS1 if its on that side at Faversham and not have a valid ticket for it - especially if they have the pricebuster which is Victoria only and end up at a station they didnt want to end up at.

Yes, they could do with amending it to avoid confusion.
