What do we think of the ORR response? I remain firmly sceptical of the ability of NR to complete this safely, and carry on safely as well.

ORR are talking sense,as a frontline worker safety seems to be slipping way down in NR's priorities, our inspections have slipped to fornightly and 4 weekly in some cases instead of weekly, and in that time we have had 2 broken rails in the weeks we have'nt been inspecting, could be coinsidence i suppose but makes you wonder.

Its heartening to see that FINALLY the ORR have woken up to what I have been pointing out on here for some time now.

So much for a World Class Company and so much for doing maintenance in-house, which was the bogus excuse for cancelling the Infrastructure Maintenance Contracts. Now of course all is revealed about Network
Rail using cheap labour. Again something pointed out here. The hypocricy of it stinks.

I am sadly disappointed however that the ORR has not seen fit to follow up in a robust manner, the very obvious and repetitive management and system failures that are highlighted in every RAIB report :cry:
