hi all, I’m new to the forum

I’ve been offered a job as an Operative (track maintenance) in Devon for NR. I’m anticipating that the role will be predominantly night work. I was hoping someone could advise on any night enhancement on top of basic salary for working nights. Also, am I correct in thinking that overtime is paid at your regular hourly rate?
Cheers guys

Not sure what your T&Cs are but I’m sure you will work a 13 week roster with a mixture of nights week ends and days.Dont think you get enhancements for night work or over time just normal rate.I know it sounds terrible lol but it really is a good job and will earn good money. But just read the contract but you been offered it take it as it’s hard to get into and not many people leave

Thanks The One. I’ve accepted already. The contract only refers to Bank holiday rates and doesn’t mention nights. Really looking forward to getting started now. I’m not overly fussed about an overtime rate to be honest. I just wanted to get an idea of how it worked.

Hey up mate, how did you get on, have you started the job yet? Currently an application in progress myself.

Night rate is an extra 30% on top of your hourly wage, Sunday nights are 40%. If you work nights full time then for whatever reason went to days, you’ll notice a big difference in your pay
